Madison McLoughlin, technical editor and proposal assistant, brings her journalism and science writing background to The Water Institute team to help deliver high-quality reports and publications to clients.
While pursuing her bachelor’s degree in journalism and English literature at Loyola University New Orleans, Madison was a summer journalism intern with The Science Exchange in Mexico and volunteered at a sea turtle conservation camp protecting nests from poachers and sifting through years of climate and hatchling data. After graduation, Madison was a news producer at WVUE Fox 8 News in New Orleans where she had the opportunity to work with John Snell, anchor and environmental reporter, to produce a news-style documentary highlighting both sides of the controversial Mid-Barataria Sediment Diversion Project in 2021.
Madison received a master’s degree in science writing from Johns Hopkins University to better combine her interests in writing and the environment. Her interests include ocean sciences, climate change impacts, and sustainability.
