Maya Tilley, Communications Coordinator, provides support to the Marketing and Communications team in its mission to ensure that science and technical research are translated into accessible, compelling messages for partners, policymakers, communities, supporters, and the media. Maya will spend the year working with The Water Institute through Serve Louisiana’s AmeriCorps program.

Maya earned dual bachelor’s degrees in public health and political science from Tulane University. During college, she was involved in environmental advocacy in New Orleans, developing a background in community engagement. She also worked at Tulane’s Newcomb Institute, providing support for student-facing events and programming. Maya also has experience working internationally and is fluent in German and also speaks Spanish and French.
