Joshua Easton, Grants and Contracts Director, supports The Water Institute's grants and contracts functions across the full award lifecycle. From pre-award strategy through post-award close-out, Joshua directs all aspect of grants and contracts and oversees day-to-day grants and contracts and sub-award administration throughout the Institute. His support and direction allows for staff to quickly and seamlessly work on projects vital to our mission.

An attorney with over 20 years of experience managing complex federal award lifecycles, Joshua expertly navigates the intersection of legal, finance, and applied research to support the work of The Water Institute. Previously working at the Gulf Coast Ecosystem Restoration Council (RESTORE Council) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Joshua is very familiar with federal restoration funding, interagency agreements, and drafting terms and amendments for awards. Joshua is also an expert in the monitoring of program funds, assessing documentation, and ensuring award compliance.

Joshua received his bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Louisville, master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Louisville and his Juris Doctor from Tulane Law School. He is admitted to the bar in New York and Maryland.
