Bennett Price

Gulf Research Policy Fellow

Bennett Price, Gulf Research Policy Fellow at The Water Institute, supports the Coastal Ecology team in Nekton Monitoring and Lower Trophic Level Monitoring as part of the NOAA Damage Assessment, Remediation and Restoration Program (DARRP). Additionally, he plans to assist with the Chandeleur Islands Fisheries Engagement and Restoration (CIFER) program and the Decision Making Under Deep Uncertainty (DMDU) conference.

Bennett earned his bachelor’s degree in Earth and Environmental Science from the University of New Orleans and his Ph.D. in Integrative Biology from Louisiana State University New Orleans. During his Ph.D., he developed and led research using passive acoustic monitoring to assess the impacts of anthropogenic noise pollution on fish spawning choruses. In addition to extensive research experience on fish behavior and morphology, he also brings a background in mentoring and instructing undergraduate students.
