Urban, Water, and Social Integration Plan for Quilmes
In May 2019, the Baton Rouge Area Foundation approved a $75,000 grant to Tulane University and the Institute to support work in developing a plan to remake the waterfront in Quilmes, Argentina.
Scientists and land planners from Tulane and the Institute reviewed the current conditions and the impact of potential interventions to developed scenarios for the city and its residents to consider. These scenarios include changes to existing land-use plans and working to develop a unified vision for the entire waterfront to achieve the long-term vibrancy of the city.
