Emelia Marshall

Coastal Ecologist

Emelia Marshall, coastal ecologist at The Water Institute, brings her expertise in marsh restoration, marsh vegetation and benthic invertebrates to her work on the coastal ecology team.

Prior to joining the Institute, Marshall was the marine ecology lab manager at The Dauphin Island Sea Lab where she managed living shoreline projects around Mobile Bay, coordinated data collection in the field, and performed data management and analysis. Marshall has extensive experience in post-construction monitoring for coastal restoration projects.

Marshall received her bachelor’s degree in coastal environmental science and a minor in chemistry from Louisiana State University and her master’s degree in coastal sciences from the University of Southern Mississippi.
