BATON ROUGE, La. (Jan. 6, 2021) – Join The Royal Netherlands Embassy, the Water Institute of the Gulf, and key partners on Jan. 14, 2021 for a webinar/discussion of the current and future partnerships between Louisiana and The Netherlands, which grew substantially in the wake of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in 2005.
Following the 2005 hurricane season, The Netherlands found an open and enthusiastic reception in Louisiana to its expertise on coastal protection, integrated water management, and nature-based solutions. In The Netherlands, Louisiana found inspiration for recovery, long-term planning and investment, and a comprehensive approach to water management. This relationship deepens even today as Louisiana continues to develop and invest in leading world-class coastal protection, restoration, and adaptation projects.
On Jan. 14, 2021, join us for a series of short presentations on the breadth of the ongoing Louisiana-Netherlands relationship and on current and future coastal restoration and protection projects in Louisiana, integrated river management and planning, nature-based solutions, and floodplain/urban adaptation. A question and answer session will be held following the presentations.
