BATON ROUGE, La. – Coast Builders Coalition and Restore the Mississippi River Delta Coalition released an analysis done by the Water Institute of the Gulf examining how costs of marsh creation can change over time and highlighting opportunities for cost-savings. The analysis examined seven sites and considered multiple scenarios for sea level rise, subsidence, inflation rates, and fill-depth criteria to analyze marsh creation options such as how either borrowing money or investing it could alter the timing of restoration and construction costs.
