Harriett Pooler

Director of Development

Harriett Pooler has more than 20 years of experience in professional fundraising, in the environmental, higher education, and social services sectors. Concentrating on major gifts, planned gifts, and donor relations, Harriett has worked for organizations such as the LSU Foundation, The Nature Conservancy, Audubon Louisiana, and Ducks Unlimited. At the close of the FOREVER LSU Campaign, Harriett and the former director of development in Engineering were given credit for the $100 million raised for the College of Engineering. She has been active in various roles with the Baton Rouge Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

A native of Lafayette, La., Harriett has lived in Baton Rouge for the past 26 years and is an avid bird watcher. She is on the board of Louisiana Ornithology Society and past president for the Baton Rouge Audubon Society. In her spare time, Harriett volunteers as a birding fieldtrip leader at Burden Museum and Gardens and Hilltop Arboretum and can be seen at birding locations across Louisiana and the country. She has been a frequent contributor of nature stories to Country Roads Magazine.
