Subsidence, coupled with sea-level rise, is a key driver of coastal land loss, a potential constraint on restoration success, and a source of risk for coastal communities. This project will present decision-makers with the current state of the science on subsidence, bring focus to the research agenda on this subject, and undertake modeling that will help incorporate subsidence processes into coastal decision-making. By doing so, the project will reduce uncertainty and provide tools for exploring the role of different subsidence drivers in determining overall subsidence rates.
